Work with us: we are looking for self-employed handymen, locksmiths and plumbers
If you are autónomo (self-employed), do good work and are tired of chasing customers, let us talk. Manitas Costa brings in the jobs, agrees the price with the customer and handles invoicing and complaints; you do the work in your own area. We are looking for people in Valencia, Alicante, Torrevieja, Benidorm, Elche and the Marina Alta.
The profiles we are looking for
What our customers ask for most, in this order:
- General handyman: roller shutters, taps, silicone, hanging and assembling, small repairs. This is the profile that receives the most jobs, especially in Valencia and Alicante.
- Locksmith with non-destructive entry skills (picking, bumping, extraction), cylinder and lock replacement. Essential in Torrevieja and Benidorm.
- Plumber for repairs without building work: taps, cisterns, traps, flexi hoses, appliance connections.
- Interior painter with experience removing gotelé (popcorn texture) and smoothing walls.
- Flat-pack furniture and kitchen fitter (IKEA, Leroy Merlin).
- Fly screen, awning and shower screen installer, with measuring tools and a drill suitable for aluminium.
- Licensed installers (electrical with boletín, gas, air conditioning with RITE certificate) as partners we can refer the work we do not do.
Terms
We do not employ staff: we work with self-employed tradesmen on a regular basis. To join the team you need:
- Autónomo registration up to date and public liability insurance in force.
- Your own vehicle and the basic tools of your trade; specialist equipment (spring machine, camera) is agreed case by case.
- A fixed area within 30 minutes of your base: Valencia city, Alicante, the Vega Baja, the Marina Baixa, the Marina Alta or Elche.
- Availability within our 8am to 9pm hours. Night cover for locksmith and drain emergencies is voluntary and paid with the corresponding surcharge.
- Spoken Spanish. English or Russian count for a lot in Torrevieja, Benidorm, Calpe and Altea.
- Commitment to the way we work: the fixed price is honoured, before-and-after photos, punctuality and tidiness.
How the day-to-day works
You receive the job on WhatsApp with the customer's photo, the address and the price already agreed from the published rates under prices. You confirm or decline within minutes. You do the work, send the photos to the group and get paid by the method agreed with the customer. The customer invoice, complaints and the guarantee are handled by the company; if a job needs a return visit under guarantee, the same tradesman goes back.
Payment terms, the split per job and the trial period are explained on the first call. There is no joining fee and no charge for receiving jobs.
How to apply
Email hola@manitascosta.es with the subject line "Working with you" and tell us: your trade or trades, years of experience, the area you live in, languages, whether you have a vehicle, and three to five photos of your own work. We reply to every application. If it looks like a fit, we have a call and then a first job accompanied by someone from the team. To see how we work with customers, read about us.
Frequently asked questions
Is it an employment contract or self-employed collaboration?
Self-employed collaboration. You decide which jobs you accept and keep your own business; we pass you work in your area in return for honouring the fixed price and our way of working. It is not exclusive, but we do ask for genuine availability in the area we assign you.
How many jobs can I expect?
It depends on the area and the trade. Locksmith and drain work in Valencia, Alicante, Torrevieja and Benidorm carry the highest demand; fly screens and awnings peak from May to July. We go through real figures for your area on the first call, with no promises of volume we cannot keep.
Do I need to speak English?
It is not compulsory: the company coordinates with the customer in Spanish, English and Russian, and you receive the job in Spanish. But in Torrevieja, Orihuela Costa, Calpe, Altea and Jávea most customers are foreign, and basic English opens up a lot more jobs.
What if I do not have public liability insurance?
It is a requirement to start: it covers any damage that might occur in the home during a job and protects both the customer and you. If you do not have it, we tell you the minimum cover we ask for so you can arrange it yourself before your first job.
