Who we are: a team of self-employed tradesmen coordinated by one company
Manitas Costa is a home repairs company based between Alicante and Valencia. We coordinate a fixed team of self-employed handymen, locksmiths, plumbers, painters and fitters, each covering their own patch of the Costa Blanca. You deal with one company, and that company answers for the price, the timing and the guarantee.
How we are organised
We are not a directory or an app that hands you a stranger's number. We pick each tradesman ourselves, check their autónomo (self-employed) registration and insurance, and assign them an area: Valencia and its metropolitan area, Alicante and the surrounding towns, the Vega Baja from Torrevieja, the Marina Baixa from Benidorm and the Marina Alta from Dénia. The person who turns up at your door lives nearby and knows the buildings, the persianas (roller shutters) and the plumbing in your neighbourhood.
Coordination (WhatsApp, quotes, scheduling, invoices and complaints) is handled by the company in Spanish, English and Russian. That matters if you manage a property for an owner who lives abroad, or if you would simply rather explain the fault in your own language. You can see every area we cover under where we work.
What we do and what we do not
We take on the household jobs that do not require a licensed installer in the Valencia region: locksmith work, drain unblocking, roller shutters, plumbing without building work, painting, furniture assembly, light carpentry, fly screens, shower screens, awnings and small building repairs. We say this plainly so you do not waste your time. We do not do:
- New electrical installations, consumer units or boletines (electrical certificates). We do swap sockets, switches and light fittings without touching the wiring.
- Gas, boilers, water heaters or central heating.
- Air conditioning that involves handling refrigerant gas.
- Full renovations, partition walls or any works that need a building licence.
- Vehicle doors and certified safes.
How we set the price
You send us a photo on WhatsApp and we give you a fixed price in writing before we come out. If you accept it, there is no call-out fee. If we need to see the job in person and you then decide not to go ahead, the visit costs €25 in Valencia or Alicante city, or €35 anywhere else in our area. Parts are charged separately and we tell you the price before buying them; you are welcome to buy them yourself.
You pay when the job is finished and you have seen it working: cash, card, Bizum or bank transfer, always with an invoice including IVA (VAT). The price ranges for each job are published under prices and they do not change depending on who is calling.
Guarantee and insurance
Every job comes with a 6-month written guarantee on labour. If a roller shutter strap we fitted slips again, or a tap we repaired starts dripping because of something we touched, we come back at no charge. Parts we install keep the manufacturer's warranty. Every tradesman on the team is covered by public liability insurance in case anything is damaged during the work.

Frequently asked questions
Are you a company or a group of independent tradesmen?
Both, and that is deliberate. The company is the one that contracts with you, sets the price, issues the invoice and stands behind the guarantee. The people who do the work are self-employed tradesmen who work with us on a regular basis, each in their own area. You get the personal service of a local handyman with a company behind him taking responsibility.
Do you have a shop or office I can visit?
No. We are a mobile service with no premises open to the public: everything is arranged by WhatsApp, phone or the contact form, and the work is done at your home. That is what lets us have tradesmen spread across Valencia, Alicante and the Costa Blanca rather than one depot everyone has to travel out from.
Can I ask for the same handyman every time?
Yes, as long as he works in your area and is available. It is the usual arrangement with customers who call us several times a year, such as holiday-let managers or second-home owners. Mention it when you write and we note it on your file. If he cannot make it that day, we tell you and offer someone else from the team at the same price.
What happens if my fault needs a licensed installer?
We tell you as soon as we spot it, and we do not charge for that if the enquiry came in by photo. We work with licensed electricians, gas engineers and air-conditioning installers in Valencia and Alicante and will pass you their details. We take no commission on that referral and we are not responsible for their work.
Do you speak English and Russian?
Yes. Coordination by WhatsApp and phone is in Spanish, English and Russian, and there are tradesmen on the team who speak all three. Write to us in whichever you prefer and you will receive the quote, the photos and the invoice in that language.
