The carpentry jobs Elche asks for most
The 1970s blocks of Carrús and El Pla have sapele interior doors on iron pins with timber frames. Half a century on, the frame has pulled away from the wall and the doors drop and rub. We refix the frame, reset the pins or swap them for butt hinges, and plane the edge if needed. Between 40 and 70 € per door, and less if there are several in the same flat.
In Altabix and Sector V, with many 2000s homes refurbished since, the problem is usually the new floor: laminate or porcelain was laid without trimming the doors and now they rub or will not open fully. We lift them off, trim them with a guided saw and rehang them in 20-30 minutes each.
In the villas of the partidas (Torrellano, La Marina, Los Palmerales) we get called for solid timber exterior doors that swell with humidity and built-in wardrobes whose sliding doors have come off the track. How we work in Elche
Send us a photo by WhatsApp with the neighbourhood or partida. We give you a fixed price. If you accept, there is no call-out fee. If you prefer an assessment visit and then do not go ahead, it is 35 €.
Hours are Monday to Sunday, 8am to 9pm. We charge when the job is done (cash, card, Bizum or bank transfer), with an invoice including IVA (VAT) and a 6-month written guarantee on the labour. Hardware carries the manufacturer's warranty.
What the price depends on
First, the door. A hollow chipboard door is adjusted quickly; a solid sapele or pine door from a house in the partidas weighs twice as much and sometimes means replacing the pins with new hinges, with recesses cut into the frame. Second, distance: within the town of Elche there is no surcharge; to the outlying districts (La Marina, Arenales del Sol) we may add 10-15 € if the job is small, and we tell you beforehand.

What turns up when we lift the door off
Sometimes the timber frame is rotten along the bottom, especially in bathrooms and kitchens of older flats in El Raval and Carrús where there have been leaks. Adjusting is not enough there: the damaged section has to be cut out, new timber let in and the frame refixed. We do it, and we quote before carrying on.
If the problem is in the front door lock rather than the wood (latch not engaging, bombín (lock cylinder) stiff to turn), that is a job for our locksmith in Elche. I have a built-in wardrobe with sliding doors that keep coming off. Can it be fixed?
Almost always. Usually the nylon rollers have split or the bottom track has been dented by the vacuum cleaner. We replace the rollers, replace or straighten the track and level the doors. That is 45-90 €. If the track is a discontinued model, we find a compatible one before coming and confirm it with you.
Do you give an invoice and a guarantee?
Yes. An invoice with IVA at the time of payment and a 6-month written guarantee on the labour. Hinges, rollers and flooring carry the manufacturer's warranty. If a door we adjusted rubs again within that time, we come back at no cost. We carry public liability insurance.
