Benidorm is like nowhere else we work. There are over a hundred towers with hundreds of apartments each, and in Rincón de Loix and Levante most of them change guests every week. That multiplies three faults: guests locked out with the key inside, keys that never come back at the end of the stay, and cylinders worn out from opening ten times a day.

The doors are different too. In the 1970s and 80s towers of Levante and the Centro there are wooden doors with a mortice lock and a spyhole, easy to open without damage. Benidorm has far more night calls than the rest of the Costa Blanca, so it pays to know both ranges. From 8am to 9pm we charge the standard rate; from 9pm and on bank holidays, the night rate.

The 29 € locksmith in Benidorm and the 400 € bill

Benidorm is fertile ground for the bait locksmith: thousands of tourists who know nobody, who search Google at two in the morning and will be gone by Sunday. The top paid results advertise openings from 29 €. What turns up is someone who drills the lock on an apartment that is not yours, charges the guest 400 € in cash and leaves the owner with a door with no lock and a problem at the next check-in.

We give the fixed price by WhatsApp before setting off, open without breaking whenever the lock allows it, and if the guest pays, we give them an invoice to pass on to the owner or their travel insurance. How we work with apartment managers in Benidorm
