Fly screens for the kind of window found in each neighbourhood
The 1960s-80s blocks of Patraix, Benicalap, Rascanya, L'Olivereta and Jesús have anodised aluminium sliding windows with a spare outer track. That is the simplest case: a made-to-measure sliding screen that drops into the track, with brush seals on the sides and nylon rollers. It is the cheapest option and the one we recommend whenever the track is in good condition.
In Ruzafa, El Carmen, Extramurs and La Saïdia many flats have been renovated and now have tilt-and-turn uPVC or thermally broken aluminium windows. There is no free track there, so we fit vertical roller screens with the cassette on the frame. For living room openings wider than 1.6 m, a side-rolling or pleated screen.
In Benimaclet, El Cabanyal and Poblats Marítims the added problem is the tiger mosquito: lightwell windows and terraces that face the huerta (market gardens) or the sea. What people ask for most is screens for balcony and terrace doors, and there a pleated screen on a low 20 mm track is the one that gets in the way least and breaks least with daily use. How we quote, measure and fit in Valencia
Step one is on WhatsApp: a photo of each window from the inside, with the whole frame visible, and your rough measurements. From that we tell you the type and give you a fixed price. Step two: we come to measure (width and height at three points, plus the depth of the track) and have the screens made. Step three: fitting, 15-25 minutes per opening, with the track cleaned as part of the job.
We work Monday to Sunday, 8:00 to 21:00. You pay when we finish, by cash, card, Bizum or bank transfer, with an invoice including IVA (VAT). Written 6-month guarantee on the fitting, plus the manufacturer's warranty on profiles and mesh. The measuring visit is free if you place the order; if not, it costs 25 € within Valencia city.
Fly screen prices in Valencia: what pushes them up and what brings them down
Up: size (a 2.3 m high balcony door costs more than a bathroom window), a profile colour other than white or bronze, and special mesh: pollen-proof for allergy sufferers, high-visibility for living rooms with a view, or reinforced PVC if there is a cat in the house. Each extra is 10-25 € per opening.
Down: ordering several at once. From the fourth opening in the same home we lower the unit price, so a two-bedroom flat with five or six windows comes to 320-480 € complete. What we find when measuring in older blocks
In quite a few 1970s blocks in Quatre Carreres and Camins al Grau the outer track is taken up by a second pane of glass or by an external box persiana (roller shutter), and the sliding screen will not fit. There we switch to a roller screen or a fixed hinged screen, and we tell you before anything is made, never on fitting day.
We also find aluminium windows that are out of square: 1 cm difference between the top and bottom measurements. We make the screen with some play and compensate with the brush seals, but if the distortion is bigger we recommend a roller screen, which does not depend on the track. We do not do terrace glazing, or screens for frameless timber windows with nothing to fix to. In rented flats where drilling is not allowed, we fit roller screens with structural tape or removable solutions, explained in no-drill fly screens.

Normally 3-5 working days. In May and June, once the tiger mosquito is active, it can reach a week. Repairs such as replacing mesh or rollers are done the same day or the next, because we carry fibreglass mesh and rollers in the van.
I rent in Ruzafa and cannot drill. Is there an option?
Yes. On aluminium sliding windows the sliding screen drops into the track without a single screw. On tilt-and-turn uPVC windows we fit roller screens with structural adhesive tape and clips, which come off without a mark when you leave the flat. The mesh on my fly screen is torn. Is it worth repairing?
If the frame and rollers are fine, yes: we replace the mesh and the retaining spline in your home for 25-45 € and it is as good as new. If the frame is bent, the rollers are shot and the brush seals are worn, the repair comes close to the price of a new screen and we recommend replacing it. We decide from a photo.
What guarantee do they come with?
Six months in writing on the fitting, stated on the invoice with IVA, plus the manufacturer's warranty on profiles, mesh and the mechanism of roller and pleated screens. If a panel comes off its track or a roller screen stops retracting within that time because of a fitting fault, we come back at no cost. We carry public liability insurance.
