What breaks in Valencia's flats and how we fix it
Much of the city lives in 1960s to 1980s blocks: Patraix, Benimaclet, Jesús, L'Olivereta, Rascanya or La Saïdia. In those flats the original cistern is usually a close-coupled Roca with a pear-shaped float or an old push button. With Valencia's hard water the float seizes and the flush seal hardens, so the toilet runs non-stop and the water bill climbs. We replace the complete mechanism with a universal or current Roca one, with the part included in most cases.
In the renovated flats of Ruzafa, El Carmen or Camins al Grau the problem changes: single-lever taps with a ceramic cartridge that starts dripping after 5 or 6 years, basin flexi hoses that swell and burst, and bottle traps left loose after a quick refurbishment. These are 30 to 60 minute repairs and we almost always have the part in the van.

When the fault is bigger than it looks
A damp patch on the ceiling of the neighbour below does not always come from a flexi hose: in Valencia's older blocks the fibre-cement stack or the original lead pipe may be cracked inside the partition wall. The first thing we do is rule out what is accessible (trap, flexi hoses, toilet seal). If the leak is buried, we tell you plainly: that is building work, and we pass you the contact of a trusted builder instead of opening the wall without a quote.
The same goes for gas, boilers, water heaters and water certificates for new supply connections: in Valencia those jobs require a licensed installer and we refer them to our partner. How long does a plumber take to reach my flat in Valencia?

Do you replace the mechanism in an old Roca cistern or does the whole cistern have to go?
In 90 % of cases the mechanism is enough. Roca tanks from the 1970s and 80s take current universal flush and float mechanisms. We only replace the whole cistern if the tank is cracked or the seal with the pan no longer holds; then we give you a second price before carrying on. Do you charge a call-out fee in Valencia?
No, if you accept the fixed quote we send you on WhatsApp. If you decide not to go ahead with the repair when we arrive, we charge 25 € within Valencia city and 35 € in the surrounding towns such as Torrent or Paterna.
What guarantee does the repair have?
Six months in writing on labour, on the invoice itself. Parts (cartridges, mechanisms, taps) also carry the manufacturer's warranty. If a tap starts dripping again within that time, we come back at no cost.
