Shower screens in Alicante: what breaks and what we fit
In the flats of Playa de San Juan and Albufereta the number one fault is the sliding screen that will not slide. Salt air rusts the steel rollers and leaves them seized in the track; sometimes the aluminium profile pits as well. We replace the rollers with a set with a stainless steel axle and nylon wheel, clean the limescale and rust out of the track and adjust the height of the doors. That is 45-80 €, and the door glides again with one finger.
In the villas of Vistahermosa, Cabo de las Huertas and Tómbola the typical job is fitting a corner screen or a large fixed panel (walk-in) in a renovated bathroom with a resin tray. Corner screens with two fixed panels and two sliding doors take 2-2.5 hours and cost 110-170 €; fixed panels with a stabiliser bar, 90-140 €.
In the 1970s flats of the Centro, Carolinas, San Blas and Benalúa the most common job is replacing an old folding bath screen with a new two- or three-panel one, or resealing the existing one because the silicone has gone black. Removing the old screen 50-65 €, full reseal 40-70 €.

How to book a fitting in Alicante
Send a photo of the bathroom on WhatsApp showing the tray and both walls, plus the model of screen you have or plan to buy. We check the measurements and how far the profile extends and give you a fixed price. If you accept, the call-out is included; a visit with no job done is 25 € in Alicante city.

The price of fitting a shower screen in Alicante: what affects it
First, the type of screen: front, corner, bath or walk-in. Then the wall: the rectified porcelain tiles of Playa de San Juan renovations need a diamond core drill and take longer than 1970s ceramic tiles. Rollers with a nylon wheel and a stainless steel axle, which do not corrode in salt air. We carry the most common formats (single wheel, double, sprung, 19 to 25 mm) and check with a photo of the old roller. Replacing the full set and cleaning the track costs 45-80 €, and the door slides again without effort.
Can you come today?
If you have the screen at home or it is only a repair, yes: we arrive in 20-40 minutes between 8am and 9pm in any neighbourhood of Alicante, and in 30-50 in El Campello, Mutxamel or San Vicente. A front screen takes 1.5-2 hours to fit; a corner screen, up to 2.5. Afterwards, 24 hours without using the shower so the silicone cures.
The silicone on my screen has gone black. Can it be cleaned or does it need replacing?
Once mould has got into the silicone it will not come out with bleach, it only lightens on the surface. The right fix is to cut it out, clean with alcohol, replace the seals if they are stiff and reseal with anti-mould sanitary silicone on the outside. That is 40-70 € and lasts 5-8 years. For limescale on the glass there is a home remedy.
What guarantee do you give?
Six months in writing on the fitting and the seal, shown on the invoice with IVA. The screen and its parts carry the manufacturer's or shop's warranty. If in that time there is a leak at the joint or a door drops because of our work, we come back at no cost. We hold public liability insurance.
